La Paloma Primary Suite Remodel | Catalina Foothills Tucson

A water leak forced the renovation of this Catalina Foothills primary suite, but it also created an opportunity to reconsider how the entire space could better support my client.

The bedroom, bathroom and storage areas needed to feel connected rather than like a series of separate spaces. Just as important, my client wanted everyday routines to feel easier, with more natural light and a stronger connection to the surrounding desert views.

The original architecture had elements worth preserving, so the goal was never to erase what was there. The new design builds on the character of the home with custom cabinetry, natural stone, soft blue tile, warm wood and brass details. A new window and door package brings in more natural light and opens the suite to the landscape, while integrated shades provide light control throughout the day.

Storage was designed around how my client actually uses the space. A wall of bedroom wardrobes provides generous concealed storage, while the closet incorporates adjustable shelving, dedicated hanging space and detailed drawer inserts. Everything has a place without adding visual clutter to the rooms.

The bathroom needed to feel beautiful without sacrificing the practical details of everyday use. A dramatic natural stone vanity anchors the space, balanced by soft blue tile, an integrated plaster tub, a stone bench and a custom mosaic wall.

The result is a primary suite that feels lighter, more connected and much easier to live in. It supports my client’s daily routines now, with thoughtful consideration for how the home can continue to serve her in the years ahead.
